If I could have any superpower, it would be?
“I’d love to be able to fly so I could travel to Uganda any time my daughter and I wanted to visit our friends there, though I’d also probably spend a lot of time in Hawaii.”
How long have you been working at YFC?
“I began at YFC in September of 2010.”
What inspires you most about your role at YFC?
“The team of people on staff at YFC are an inspiration to me. They are so dedicated to the youth/ministries they work with and are faithful followers of Christ. I feel blessed to be able to use my administrative gifts alongside this team. I also love that after serving the Lord as a missionary in Uganda for over 2 years I was able to return to Kalamazoo and continue serving in my hometown.”
My favorite thing to do when I was a kid was:
“Whether it was climbing trees, swimming in the pool (or ice skating on the frozen pool in winter), spending summer days on the shores of Lake Michigan, or playing whatever version of ‘pretend’ my friends and sister and I would come up with (we often had a ‘Little House on the Prairie’ theme to our adventures), my favorite thing to do was to be outside.”
The best advice I ever got was:
“My dad told me that he never worked a day in his life because he always had jobs that he loved, so it didn’t seem like work to him. So it’s been my goal to follow that advice and be able to love the work I’m doing: my tasks at YFC fit that advice.”
