About Merge Mentoring
Our goal is to provide the young people of Kalamazoo an opportunity to have a one-on-one relationship with a caring Christian adult so that they can be mentored in life skills, character development and the daily living out of the Christian faith.
The name “Merge” comes from the idea that we are taking two individuals who were previously walking separate roads and bringing them together to walk the same road for a stretch of their journey. Much like the road signs you see, the picture of merging indicates the way that “coming together” will help us to move forward in life and in our walk with God. Mentor:
Position Summary: Christian Adult volunteer who walks beside a student each week to engage in a relational ministry.
Focus: The main focus is to walk alongside a student while mentoring life skills and sharing the love of Jesus.
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week for one year.
Prayer Partner:
Position Summary: Be a prayer warrior for a mentoring match.
Focus: Each month you will receive an update on a mentor/mentee and we ask you bring those individuals to the Lord on a daily basis.
Time Commitment: 15 minutes a day
