Taste of Heaven is a nonprofit ministry of Kalamazoo Youth for Christ dedicated to supporting the mission of reaching and impacting young people locally, nationally, and around the world. Through the production and sale of our famous Chocolate Drizzled Caramel Corn, this ministry helps generate funding that supports life-changing work with youth. In addition, Taste of Heaven provides meaningful volunteer opportunities and life-skills training for teens and adults, creating hands-on experiences that build confidence, work ethic, and community while supporting the broader mission of Youth for Christ.​

The Ministry of Taste of HeavenMinistry takes place at Taste of Heaven through the hands-on production of our signature product. Our volunteer team includes area youth, community service workers, students, senior citizens, and church groups who help produce and package our popcorn. We also partner with local organizations - including youth groups and public schools - to welcome a wide range of volunteers. Through these opportunities, participants gain valuable job skills, teamwork experience, and encouragement rooted in the Word of God, while serving alongside others in a meaningful way.
We are deeply grateful for how God uses Taste of Heaven not only to provide financial support for the ministry of Youth for Christ, but also to impact the lives of many people throughout our community through connection, mentorship, and practical experience.

Our HistoryTaste of Heaven began in January 1999 at Richland Bible Church when members of the congregation were given envelopes containing small amounts of money - based on the parable of the talents in Matthew 25 -and challenged to invest it for the Lord.
One member, Peg Throop, discovered $10 in her envelope. She used it to make caramel corn, drizzled it with chocolate, and sold it to friends. When the congregation gathered later that year on November 28, 1999, to share the results of their investments, Peg returned $800 from her original $10. After much prayer and encouragement, Taste of Heaven was born.
In October 2005, Taste of Heaven officially became a ministry of Kalamazoo Youth for Christ. Today, all proceeds support the mission of Youth for Christ, helping reach and impact young people in Kalamazoo and beyond.
